A casino can bring in a lot of money for the owners of the casino. A city-owned casino, a Chicago casino, has the potential to bring in a lot of money for the city, in this case the City of Chicago, Illinois. Although the voters in Chicago had been against such a casino in previous years, it seems the tide is turning. One-half of voters said they would be in favor of a casino. The profits of such casinos would help pay some of the bills. Cities all over the United States are having money problems and looking for ways to increase revenue. A Chicago casino would draw tourists to the Windy City.
A pole taken by the Chicago Tribune and WGN-TV indicates that 47% percent of voters are in favor, although 41% still oppose a casino in Chicago, as reported in USA Today. It seems a majority of those in favor of a Chicago Casino are under the age of 50. While 56% of men would like a casino, 39% of the women say no to a casino. Perhaps women are more cautious regarding how they spend their money.
There will be much more discussion on a Chicago casino when lawmakers head back to the State Capitol next month for a lame-duck session. In the meantime, study up on all the casino games and be prepared to try to beat the odds if a Chicago casino finds its way to the Windy City.
